Audit the length and structure of my complaint letter. The letter: [MY_LETTER]. The reader (front-line agent, manager, executive office, regulator): [READER]. The evidence attached: [EVIDENCE].

Count words per paragraph and in total, with the arithmetic, and compare with a target for this reader that I should confirm (for example 250 to 400 words for a manager). Identify paragraphs that repeat, details that belong in an attachment, and missing elements (facts, request, deadline). Make a table with Paragraph, Words, Purpose, Keep, Cut or move, and Reason. Provide a shortened version that keeps every fact and the request, and a one-paragraph summary to place at the top.

Do not remove facts needed to understand the claim. Add a worked example: a 640-word letter with paragraphs of 130, 95, 150, 120, 85 and 60 words, where paragraphs two and four repeat the same dates; cutting repeats and moving the invoice detail to an attachment brings it to about 380 words. Show the arithmetic and a rule: lead with the problem, the request and the date, then facts in order.

This is not legal advice. Invent no law, deadline or odds. Use [JURISDICTION] and [RELEVANT_LAW_OR_POLICY_IF_KNOWN] as given. Point me to a consumer agency. Keep every draft calm and fair.

Letter 640 words: paragraphs of 130, 95, 150, 120, 85 and 60 words. Paragraphs 2 and 4 repeat the same three dates. Target for a manager: 250 to 400 words.
Move the invoice detail (95 words) to an attachment; merge 2 and 4; cut 70 words of background.
Result: 640 - 95 - 105 - 70 = 370 words.
Summary for the top: 'Order 55120, delivered 3 May, faulty from 12 May; I ask for a refund of 549 by 15 June. Details below.'
