PowerPoint Speaker Notes Quality Audit
Check that notes help the presenter and do not become a script.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Audit the speaker notes in my PowerPoint deck. Slide text and notes for each slide: [SLIDES_AND_NOTES]. Presenting time: [MINUTES]. Presenter experience: [EXPERIENCE]. Check each slide's notes for length versus time per slide (about 130 spoken words per minute: 95 words is 0.73 minutes, or 44 seconds, against a planned minute), whether the main message is in the first line, transitions, facts and sources, risky claims, and text copied from the slide. Calculate word count and speaking time for each slide and in total, compare with the time available, and count how many slides have notes and the average word count. Identify slides with no notes and slides with too much. Return a table with Slide, Words, Estimated time, Problem and Fix, and rewrite the weakest three as bullet prompts, showing before and after. Notes are visible in some sharing modes and must not contain private remarks. Say how many slides you were given and avoid judging notes for slides that deliberately need none, such as a title slide. Keep the rewritten prompts short enough to read at a glance on stage.

Invented slide: 95 words of notes. At 130 words per minute that is 0.73 minutes = 44 seconds; planned time 1 minute. Fine. Another slide has 310 words = 2.4 minutes against 1 planned: shorten to prompts. Total notes 2,400 words = 18.5 minutes for a 15-minute talk. Rewrite of the 310-word notes as prompts: 1. Open with the question: why did costs rise? 2. Two causes: supplier prices (60 percent), freight (40 percent). 3. One example: the January invoice. 4. Link to the next slide: so what are we doing about it? That is about 45 words of prompts for a 1-minute slide. Total after rewrite: notes of 780 words, 6 minutes of speech for 15 minutes planned, which leaves room for questions.
