Proto-Persona Workshop to Capture Team Assumptions
Make assumptions visible before research.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Run a proto-persona workshop. Product idea: [PRODUCT_IDEA]. Team members: [TEAM_MEMBERS]. Time: [TIME]. Plan a 60-minute session: explain that proto-personas are hypotheses, not facts (5); each person individually writes who they think the users are, their goals, pains, and behaviors (10); cluster and merge into 2 to 3 proto-personas (15); fill in a template with a name, role or situation, goals, current solutions, pains, and what would make them try us (15); list the assumptions behind each with a confidence rating (10); define the research to test the three riskiest assumptions (5). Provide the template as a table, facilitation prompts, and a plan to replace the proto-personas with evidence-based ones after research. Add rules: avoid demographics unless they matter, avoid stock-photo details, and label every attribute as assumption or evidence. Provide the template filled with one example persona built from invented but plausible assumptions, labelled clearly as an example, the assumption-rating scale (high, medium, low confidence), and the plan to test the three lowest-confidence assumptions with five conversations.
