Interview Guide Review Rubric
Evaluate a discussion guide before fieldwork.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Review my interview guide. The guide: [INTERVIEW_GUIDE]. Research objectives: [OBJECTIVES]. Participants: [PARTICIPANTS]. Score from 1 to 5 with evidence quoted from the guide: alignment with the objectives; neutral wording (no leading or loaded questions); focus on past behavior rather than hypotheticals; question order (broad to specific); flexibility and probes; time realism (questions per minute); clarity for the participant; inclusivity and accessibility; ethics and consent; and analysis readiness (can answers be compared across participants?). Return a table: Criterion | Score | Evidence | Problem | Rewrite. Highlight the five weakest questions with improved versions. Compute a total out of 50 and an interpretation (40 or more ready, 30 to 39 needs revision, under 30 rewrite), noting the thresholds are judgment. Estimate if the guide fits in the session time and recommend what to cut. Do not add questions that do not serve the stated objectives. Present the corrected guide as a revised question list in the order you recommend, with timings per section that add up to the session length, and flag any question that should become a probe rather than a main question.
