Notion Onboarding Hub for New Employees
Build an onboarding page with checklists per role.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Create a Notion onboarding hub. Company and teams: [COMPANY_AND_TEAMS]. Roles: [ROLES]. First-week, first-month and first-quarter goals: [GOALS]. Systems to set up: [SYSTEMS]. List the pages, each with a one-line purpose: a welcome page (write it in full, about 120 words), a day-by-day first-week checklist (the day-one list has eight items and who helps with each), a who-is-who table with how each person helps, a tools guide, a glossary, and a 30-60-90 day plan page for each role with learning goals, not performance targets. Give new starters fewer, clearer tasks. Make a template a manager can duplicate for each new person with their name and start date, and explain how to share it only with that person and their manager [VERIFY]. Suggest checklist database properties so managers see progress for several starters: Person, Task, Due, Done, Owner. Add a manager checklist, a buddy guide with five things to do in the first week, and a reminder to ask the new starter after 30 days what is missing from the hub. Keep private HR information out of the hub and check with HR what must be included.

Invented hub pages: Welcome, First week checklist, Who is who, Tools, Glossary, 30-60-90 plan. First-week checklist excerpt: Monday accounts and welcome (owner IT/manager), Tuesday read handbook 90 minutes, Wednesday shadow two meetings, Thursday first small task, Friday review. Progress for three new starters: 14 of 20 tasks done (70 percent), 9 of 20, 20 of 20. Manager checklist: 8 items. Feedback at day 30: five questions. Progress formula idea: tasks done divided by tasks total per person; at day 10, 14 of 20 is 70 percent. Managers see all new starters in one view.
