Audit a Tableau data source for double counting. Tables, keys, row counts and joins used: [DATA_SOURCE_DESCRIPTION]. Totals shown versus source totals: [TOTALS_COMPARISON]. Fields used as measures: [MEASURES]. Do not guess the grain; ask if it is missing, and treat suggestions as hypotheses until tested. Draw the data source as a text diagram of tables and joins, then trace one record through it to show how it multiplies. Compute the expected row counts after each join for the cardinality I describe and compare with actual: 3 orders joined to 7 lines gives 7 rows, so order totals repeated across lines are inflated. Show the correct total, the inflated total and the ratio. Identify joins at different grain that repeat rows and measures counted several times. Recommend the lowest-risk fix (relationships, aggregation before joining, or LOD expressions [VERIFY]) and the test to prove it worked, such as comparing a total with and without the join. Return a table (Join, Expected rows, Actual rows, Problem, Fix), a test plan for totals, and a check to include in the workbook.
