Audit data quality in an Airtable table. Sample of records or a CSV export with field names: [SAMPLE_DATA]. Key fields that must be unique or complete: [KEY_FIELDS]. Sample size: [SAMPLE_SIZE].

Define your duplicate rules before applying them, for example the same email ignoring case, or the same name and date of birth, and say which are certain and which are probable. Count blanks per field, exact and near duplicates (case or spacing differences), values outside allowed ranges, dates in the wrong order, inconsistent spellings in fields used for grouping, and orphaned linked records. Show arithmetic and percentages.

Propose a merge rule that keeps the record with the most complete data and the latest update, and a step to note the merged IDs. Warn that merging linked records changes totals elsewhere, so test on a copy and back up first. Suggest preventive checks: required fields in forms, single selects instead of text, and a formula field that flags problems [VERIFY syntax].

Return a table, a clean-up plan with a monthly check, and do not merge records automatically without a rule that I approve.

Invented table of 2,400 contacts. Blank email: 144 (6 percent). Exact duplicate emails: 36 pairs. Near duplicates (same name, different spelling of company): 52 pairs. Phone in three formats: 610 records (25.4 percent). Records with at least one problem: 780 of 2,400 (32.5 percent).
Merge rule: keep the record with the most complete data and the latest update, and keep the other record's ID in a notes field. Plan: back up, fix formats with a formula field, merge the 36 exact pairs, review the 52 near pairs by hand.

Illustrative only, made-up data. Your results will differ and must be reviewed.
