Concession Plan and Trade Matrix
Trade value instead of giving it away.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Build a concession plan. The deal and the issues: [DEAL_AND_ISSUES]. What each issue is worth to me (cost or value, in numbers or ranks): [MY_VALUES]. What I think each issue is worth to the other party: [THEIR_VALUES]. Limits: [LIMITS].
Create:
1. A trade matrix: Issue | Value to me (1 to 10) | Value to them (1 to 10) | My opening | My target | My limit | Possible trade (give A to get B).
2. A concession ladder: the order in which I make concessions, each with a required return ("If we extend the term to 24 months, then the price is X"). Show the rule that concessions get smaller as we approach my limit.
3. Package options: three packages with different mixes that have similar value to me but different value to them; show the arithmetic.
4. Scripts for conditional offers ("If you can do X, I can do Y") and for responding to demands without making a concession ("What would that be worth to you?").
5. A tracking sheet to record what has been given and received, so concessions stay balanced.
6. Warnings: don't negotiate against yourself, don't concede before you hear their whole list, and don't fix a number before understanding their priorities.
Use only my numbers and mark guesses about their values as hypotheses.

Issue: price, term, payment timing. Opening: 12,000 a year, 12-month term, 30-day payment. Target: 11,400, 24-month term, 14-day payment. Limit: 10,800 on a 24-month term. Trade: "If you sign for 24 months, I can move from 12,000 to 11,400." (value to me: guaranteed 22,800 against 12,000 for one year; cost: 600 a year.) Second trade: "If you pay within 14 days, I will hold the price for the second year." Concession ladder: 600, then 300, then 100, then stop. Each smaller step signals the limit. Package check: 24 months at 11,400 is 22,800 total; at limit 10,800 it is 21,600.
