Help me identify a research gap. My topic and the sources I have read, with notes: [TOPIC_SOURCES]. What seems missing to me: [MISSING]. My constraints (time, access, methods): [CONSTRAINTS].

Guide me through categories of gap: population, context, method, time, theory, outcome, and contradictory findings. For each category, ask what the sources cover and fail to cover using my notes. List candidate gaps, test each with questions (is it truly unaddressed, is it important, is it feasible for me?), and rank them. Draft a gap statement of 80 words for the best candidate using only the evidence I provided. Suggest searches to confirm it is a real gap rather than my unfamiliarity. Do not invent literature.

Also add a short script for discussing the gap with my supervisor, including the evidence I will bring and the question I will ask, and a note that a gap is useful only if answering it matters to someone, so I should state who would benefit.

Candidate gaps (invented topic: school start times)
1. Population gap: few studies on rural schools.
2. Method gap: mostly surveys, few observational studies.
3. Outcome gap: attendance studied, mental health less.
Test: Is it unaddressed? Search shows two small studies. Is it important? Yes, to rural councils. Is it feasible? Yes, with two schools.
Gap statement (60 words): 'Evidence on later school start times draws mainly on urban settings and self-reported outcomes. Little is known about attendance and wellbeing in rural schools.'

Illustrative only, made-up data. Your results will differ and must be reviewed.
