Adobe Acrobat PDF Forms and Review Workflow
Create forms and collect comments.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Plan a fillable PDF form and the review process around it, using Adobe Acrobat. Purpose of the form: [PURPOSE]. Fields needed: [FIELDS]. Who fills it in and who reviews it: [PEOPLE]. Signature needs: [SIGNATURE_NEEDS]. Final date: [FINAL_DATE]. Design the form. Give a table with Field name, Type, Required, Validation, Help text and Tab order. Set the reading order so that a screen reader and the Tab key follow the same path, label every field, and put short instructions at the top. Describe the submit method and where completed forms are stored, how long they are kept and who can see them, collecting only what is needed. Plan the review. Compare a shared review with emailed copies, set comment conventions, and count deadlines back from the final date, for example reviewers have five working days, the owner consolidates comments in two, and the revised version goes for approval. Explain when a legally recognised electronic signature might be required and tell me to check local rules [VERIFY]. Include a worked example for a leave request form: Name, Department, Start date, End date, Days requested (calculated), Reason (optional), Manager approval, with the validation that the end date is not before the start date. Finish with a test plan: three testers, one using a screen reader or keyboard only, and a record of what changed afterwards. Mark menu names and tool names [VERIFY].
