Zoom Accessibility Plan for Online Sessions
Make video sessions usable for more people.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Create an accessibility plan for Zoom sessions. Audience and known access needs: [AUDIENCE_NEEDS]. Session format (presentation, discussion, training): [FORMAT]. Materials used: [MATERIALS]. Features we can use: [FEATURES]. Present a table (Stage, Action, Why, Who, Done) short enough to use, with a few words on why each item matters. Before: send materials early in accessible formats, ask about access needs, test captions and links. During: describe visuals aloud, do not rely on chat alone, set the pace, give breaks, name speakers, and allow time for responses. After: share notes, a recording with captions if allowed, and a feedback route. Slide guidance: large text, contrast, alt text, and no information carried by colour alone. Write the invitation sentence that asks about access needs, a script for describing a slide aloud, and an accessible alternative for polls and chat questions. Mention live captions, sign-language interpreter views and pinning, each marked [VERIFY] because availability varies. A plan cannot cover every need; asking attendees directly is the best approach.
