Power BI Report Page Layout and Visual Selection Brief
Design a page that answers one question clearly.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Design a Power BI report page. The decision the audience makes: [DECISION]. Audience and how they read it (screen, phone, meeting): [AUDIENCE]. Metrics and dimensions available: [METRICS_AND_DIMENSIONS]. Brand colours: [COLOURS]. Describe the layout as a grid from top left: a title with the question answered, three to five key numbers, the main visual and why that type (line for trend over time, bar for comparison, table for exact values), supporting visuals, and slicers. Fewer visuals, clearer questions: limit the number of visuals and colours and avoid decoration. For each visual give the fields, sort order, labels, tooltip and interaction behaviour. Write titles as findings, not field names. Accessibility: contrast, alt text, tab order, no colour-only meaning, font sizes. Describe the mobile layout if needed [VERIFY]. Review checklist: can someone understand the page in 10 seconds, are filters obvious, and do the numbers agree with the finance report? Keep the page to one idea and name the one visual to remove first if the page feels crowded. Describe how the layout changes for a phone if the audience will read it there.
