Looker Studio Calculated Fields and Blends Plan
Write formulas and plan joins between sources.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
[VERIFY] is an editorial flag, not a blank to fill. Wherever the prompt shows [VERIFY], check that item against a reliable source before you use it.
Help me create calculated fields and data blends in Looker Studio. Sources and fields: [SOURCES_AND_FIELDS]. The metrics I need to calculate: [CALCULATIONS]. The key that links the sources: [JOIN_KEY]. Use only the fields I listed. Present the fields in a table, each with the formula in Looker Studio style [VERIFY], a plain explanation, and an example with invented numbers. Cover ratios with protection against division by zero (for example conversion rate = conversions / sessions, blank when sessions are zero), text cleaning, date handling, CASE logic for grouping, and conditional metrics. Add naming rules for fields. Then plan a blend: left table, right table, join keys, join type, and the risk of duplicated rows or missing matches. Explain calculating before versus after blending, and warn about blend limits such as the number of sources and performance [VERIFY]. Validate by comparing totals before and after the blend and testing a few IDs by hand.

Invented fields. Conversion rate = conversions / sessions, protected for zero sessions (shows blank). Channel group: a CASE field mapping 6 source values to 4 groups. Revenue per order = revenue / orders. Blend: left table web sessions by date, right table orders by date, join on date; check: sessions total 13,800 and orders total 240 both preserved after the blend. Pitfall: joining on a text date with a different format returns blanks; test with a single day. Calculation example: 240 orders, 18,000 revenue gives 75.00 per order.
