Plan an unreliable narrator. The story premise: [PREMISE]. The narrator's reason for misleading (self-protection, ignorance, bias, deliberate deceit): [REASON]. The truth the reader should reconstruct: [TRUTH].

Produce a plan with: the narrator's voice and how it signals confidence; a list of ten clues placed across the story, each with location and the way a rereading changes its meaning; a table of what the narrator says versus what is actually true; and the moment of recognition for the reader. Offer three ways to reveal the unreliability (contradiction, other characters, physical evidence) and the risks of each. Add fairness checks: could a careful reader have guessed, and does the ending feel earned? Warn against using mental illness as a twist without research and sensitivity.

Add a short practical guide on how to test the plan on beta readers: what to ask them after the first read and after a reread, and how to interpret confusion versus intrigue. Provide three alternatives for the final reveal and the effect each has on how the reader feels about the narrator, and a note on keeping the narrator human, not only a device.
