Help me choose the point of view. Scene or story summary: [SUMMARY]. Characters who could narrate: [NARRATOR_OPTIONS]. Effect I want on the reader: [DESIRED_EFFECT]. Tense I'm considering: [TENSE].

Write a short passage of about 100 words of the same moment in four ways: first person, close third person, omniscient, and second person if sensible. After each passage list the gains and limits (access to thought, reliability, distance, intimacy). Provide a decision table comparing the options against my desired effect, and recommend one with an explanation of what to do about information the narrator cannot know. Add pitfalls for the chosen option, such as head-hopping or unnatural explanations. Offer three exercises to test it over 500 words.

Add a test passage of 200 words from my own material that I will supply: [SAMPLE_PASSAGE], rewritten in the recommended viewpoint, with notes on what had to change. Include a short list of famous craft pitfalls for each viewpoint, described generally without quoting any published book, and a recommendation on how to maintain consistent tense throughout.
