Google Docs Originality Review for Collaborative Writing
Check shared writing for correct attribution and overlap with named sources.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Review a collaboratively written Google Doc for attribution. Sections with the contributor named by the group: [SECTIONS_AND_CONTRIBUTORS]. Sources used: [SOURCES_WITH_PASSAGES]. Rules for the assignment or publication: [RULES]. For each section, compare with the pasted source passages, flag wording that is too close, check that quotations and paraphrases are cited, and note any section whose style differs sharply from the others as a point to harmonise, not as evidence of wrongdoing. Say how you handled sections with no source given and what you could and could not conclude. You cannot detect AI-generated text or search the internet, and style differences alone prove nothing. Phrase concerns as questions and return a table of findings with fixes. Suggest a fair group process: agree sources, cite as you go, and review each other's sections. Provide a final checklist (all quotations marked, all sources listed, no section reused from earlier work without permission, consistent referencing) and a supportive message for the group asking each person to check their own sections. If the group is unsure about permitted use of sources or tools, ask the instructor or editor in advance.
