Named Ranges and Structured References Setup
Make formulas readable and resilient.

Set up names and structured references in my workbook. App: [SPREADSHEET_APP]. Data tables and inputs: [TABLES_AND_INPUTS]. Formulas that currently use cell addresses: [EXAMPLE_FORMULAS]. Provide: 1. A naming convention: prefix or style for inputs, ranges, and tables (for example in_TaxRate, tbl_Orders, rng_Regions), no spaces, meaningful names. 2. How to convert data ranges into tables (Excel) or named ranges (Sheets), and how structured references behave when rows are added. 3. A before-and-after rewrite of my example formulas using names, for instance =SUMIFS(tbl_Orders[Amount], tbl_Orders[Region], in_Region). 4. Input cells: where to place assumptions, how to name and document them, and styling that distinguishes inputs from formulas. 5. Dynamic lists for dropdowns that grow with the data. 6. Name manager hygiene: delete unused names, check scope (workbook versus sheet), watch for broken references. 7. Limits: names that make formulas harder to audit if overused; names in shared files; compatibility. 8. A test: add rows and confirm that totals, charts, and dropdowns update. Include a one-page documentation sheet template listing each name, what it refers to, and the owner. Mention backing up before restructuring.
