Design a discovery call notes template and fill it with a sample. My sales process stages: [SALES_STAGES]. CRM or notes tool: [TOOL]. Information my team needs after a call: [REQUIRED_INFO]. Create the template with these sections and prompts: Prospect and attendees (name, role, influence); Situation (current process and tools); Problem (what, how often, since when); Impact (cost, risk, people affected, numbers in the prospect's words); Desired outcome and success measure; Decision (process, criteria, timeline, budget, competing options); Concerns raised; Commitments made by both sides (with dates); Next step (specific, scheduled, with the invitation sent before the call ends); Red flags; My honest fit assessment (1 to 5 with reason). Then fill the template using this fictional call: a 30-person logistics firm that loses about 6 hours a week reconciling delivery notes, has tried spreadsheets, wants a pilot by March, and needs approval from a finance director who was not on the call. Show good notes (quotes, numbers, owners) and a weak version of two lines for contrast. Add rules: record only what is needed, avoid personal opinions about people, keep notes factual, and do not record the call without the legal notice required in [JURISDICTION] [VERIFY]. Provide a 5-minute post-call routine.
