Prepare a print order. Item: [PRINT_ITEM]. Quantity: [QUANTITY]. Size, paper and finish: [SPECIFICATIONS]. Deadline: [DEADLINE]. Printer: [PRINTER].

Create a specification sheet: dimensions with bleed and safe margins, colour mode, resolution, fonts outlined or embedded, file format, number of pages and binding, paper weight and finish, quantities and delivery. Add a proof checklist: spelling, contact details, colours, alignment, barcodes, legal text and file version.

Provide an email to the printer under 120 words asking them to confirm the specification and proof method, and a timeline working back from the deadline. Printer requirements vary and must be confirmed [VERIFY].

Add a glossary of printing terms in plain words: bleed, trim, safe area, spot colour, proof, gsm, varnish, die line. Provide a checklist for supplying files: outline fonts, convert images to the right colour mode, include the die line on a separate layer and name files clearly. Remind me that screens show colours differently from print and that a physical proof is essential for colour-critical work.
