Then answer: the single most important change; a test of my thesis ("Could a reasonable person disagree?"); a reverse outline (one sentence summarizing each paragraph) so I can see the structure; the places where a reader would be confused; and three questions to ask myself before revising. Give no more than one example sentence per issue, and never rewrite whole paragraphs. Do not add sources or facts. Encourage me to revise in my own voice, and tell me which feedback is subjective so I can decide whether to follow it.
