Interactive Chart Specification
Specify an interactive chart before building.
The Open buttons send the prompt text as currently shown below to that site only when you click. Fill in the placeholders first.
Write a specification for an interactive chart. Audience and decision: [AUDIENCE_DECISION]. Data fields: [DATA_FIELDS]. Tool (a Python plotting library or a BI tool): [TOOL]. Specify the default view, filters, hover content, drill-downs, and what happens on mobile. For each interaction state the question it answers. Provide a mock-up in text, the data transformations needed, and the performance considerations for the data volume I give. Include accessibility: keyboard use, colour contrast and a table alternative. Write acceptance tests of ten checks. Avoid features that do not support the decision. Add a performance test plan with data sizes to try, a list of failure states to design (no data, loading, error), and a user test script of five tasks to confirm that people can find the answer. Include a decision about whether a static chart would serve the audience equally well. Also give a short list of the three interactions most likely to confuse users and how to test each with five people before building anything else.
