Review our Asana rules. For each rule: trigger, conditions, actions, project, owner and last edited: [RULES_LIST]. Complaints about notifications or odd changes: [COMPLAINTS].

Write each rule as a plain sentence and test it against a normal case and an unusual one, such as an empty field or a task moved twice in a minute, tracing what would happen. Check for rules that could trigger each other, overlap, notify many people, have no owner, or rely on a renamed field. Count how many rules touch the same field and list pairs that could conflict. Rank by risk and usefulness.

Return a table with a recommendation for each rule: keep, simplify, merge or switch off. Suggest a safe way to test changes on a copy or test project and the evidence to record [VERIFY the options available]. Do not suggest changing a rule until its owner has agreed, and keep the language non-technical for the project owners reading it.

Invented rules. Rule 1: when a task moves to Review, assign it to the reviewer and notify the team channel (fires about 60 times a week). Rule 2: when a due date changes, comment and notify all followers (about 35 times a week, 6 followers each = 210 notifications). Rule 3: when a task is completed, move it to Done and, if it has subtasks, mark them complete.
Findings: Rule 2 produces most of the noise; Rule 3 could complete subtasks that were not finished. Recommendation: notify only the assignee on date changes and require subtasks to be complete before the rule runs. Test with one sample task.
